One Hundred Years of Kimono

Changes and Continuity from the Edo Period to the Present Day

Paul MacLardy is the owner of Arise Bazaar- A gallery of Japanese and Asian textiles, antiques,  furniture and artifacts. He has curated numerous Kimono exhibits at museums and Japanese  cultural events. He was on the Board of Directors for the National Cherry Blossom Festival for  14 years and assists the Japan American Society of Greater Washington with their Sakura  Matsuri- the largest Matsuri outside of Japan. He has lectured about Kimono at such museums as the Smithsonian and the Walters Art Museum and numerous Japanese cultural organizations. He is the co-author of 2 editions of the book "Kimono- Vanishing Traditions".
